One partnership is with Kayce Cat Rescue, which operates out of space inside Summit Dog and Cat Hospital at no charge, allowing more of the rescue's resources to go directly toward helping cats. The hospital also offers discounted veterinary services to support TNR efforts, helping community cats receive medical care while reducing the number of homeless cats entering shelters.
"Veterinary medicine is about more than treating an animal that walks through our doors," said Hannah Stavitski of Summit Dog and Cat Hospital. "We believe we have a responsibility to help animals in our community, support the people who dedicate their lives to rescuing them, and make veterinary care accessible when someone is struggling."
That philosophy extends to veterans, for whom the hospital provides free veterinary care, recognizing that a pet can be an essential source of companionship during difficult periods. "Sometimes helping a person means helping the animal they love," Stavitski said. "If we can keep a veteran and their pet together by providing veterinary care, that is something we are proud to do."
Summit Dog and Cat Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital serving pets and families in Summit and surrounding communities.
